How to play Resident Evil Requiem with OWO Skin

Install REFramework and the OWO integration, connect your Skin through MyOWO and bring supported survival horror moments into the physical world.

Important:

The integration was compiled against REFramework nightly-01422. If you already use the Resident Evil Requiem VR mod, you only need to install csharp-api.zip.

Download the OWO mod

Download the latest Resident Evil Requiem OWO integration from Nexus Mods.

Install REFramework and the C# API

Download REFramework.zip and csharp-api.zip from REFramework Nightly and extract them into the Resident Evil Requiem game folder.

If you already use the VR mod, extract only csharp-api.zip.

Install .NET 10 Runtime

Make sure the .NET 10 Runtime x64 is installed. It is required by the REFramework C# API.

Install the OWO integration

Extract the reframework folder from the OWO mod package into the game folder, next to the game executable.

You should end up with:

reframework/plugins/managed/RE9_OWO.dll
reframework/plugins/managed/dependencies/OWO.dll
reframework/plugins/managed/RE9_OWO/RE9_OWO.ini
reframework/plugins/managed/RE9_OWO/sensations/

The sensations folder should contain the 10 .owo files.

Connect and launch

Open MyOWO with your OWO Skin connected and calibrated, launch Resident Evil Requiem and select the game card in MyOWO.

Having connection problems?

The first launch with the C# API may take longer than usual while REFramework compiles its reference assemblies. If the game does not connect to MyOWO, for example because a VPN or network is blocking broadcast traffic, set ServerIp= to the IP address shown in MyOWO and restart the game.

How to uninstall the integration

Delete:

reframework/plugins/managed/RE9_OWO.dll
reframework/plugins/managed/RE9_OWO/
reframework/plugins/managed/dependencies/OWO.dll

Keep OWO.dll if another OWO plugin uses it. No other game files are modified.

What does Resident Evil Requiem feel like with OWO Skin?

Survival horror is built around pressure. OWO Skin adds a physical layer to supported moments of danger, combat and recovery, helping each part of the encounter feel different.

WEAPONS + RECOIL

Weapons have their own physical language

One-handed and two-handed weapon actions can use different haptic responses, while equipping and reloading add shorter physical cues around the main combat sensations.

DAMAGE

Feel when things go wrong

Incoming damage can trigger a broad physical response across the chest, abdomen, back and arms. In survival horror, that hit can immediately reinforce that the situation has changed.

LOW HEALTH

Danger has a heartbeat

When health reaches a critical state, repeated pulses around the left side of the chest can reinforce the pressure of deciding whether to fight, retreat or heal.

HEALING

Recovery feels different too

Healing uses a longer, more progressive physical response, creating a clear contrast with the sudden feedback of taking damage.

SURVIVAL HORROR

Physical feedback matters when the consequence changes how you play

Damage is sudden. Low health becomes rhythmic. Healing is progressive. Weapon actions are shorter and more mechanical, while death has a longer and more final physical response. The difference between sensations helps OWO Skin follow the logic of survival horror instead of turning every event into the same effect.
