Resident Evil 3 OWO Skin: play on PC or in VR

BEFORE YOU START

IMPORTANT

The integration works in both flat-screen PC gameplay and VR. For VR, you will also need a compatible PC headset using SteamVR or your headset’s OpenXR runtime.

INSTALLATION GUIDE

Install REFramework

With the game closed, copy dinput8.dll from the REFramework package into the Resident Evil 3 game folder, where re3.exe is located.

Add the VR files if you play in PCVR

For VR, also copy openvr_api.dll and openxr_loader.dll from the REFramework package into the game folder. Without these files, Resident Evil 3 launches in flat-screen mode.

Install the OWO integration

Copy the reframework folder from the OWO package into the Resident Evil 3 game folder and merge it with the existing folder.

The installation should include reframework\plugins\RE3VR_OWO.dll, reframework\plugins\RE3VR_OWO\ and reframework\autorun\RE3VR_OWO_events.lua.

Start your VR runtime if needed

If you are playing in VR, switch on your headset and open SteamVR or your headset’s OpenXR runtime before starting the game. REFramework detects the runtime automatically when Resident Evil 3 launches.

Connect to MyOWO

Open MyOWO with your OWO Skin paired and calibrated, launch Resident Evil 3 and select the game card inside MyOWO to establish the connection.

OPTIONAL FOR VR

The integration is compatible with RE3VR Immersion Enhancer 1.1. If you already use it, additional VR gestures such as drawing weapons from body holsters, reaching for magazines, knife movements and two-handed aiming can also trigger haptic feedback.

When an enemy grabs, bites or damages Jill, OWO Skin can reproduce a physical response that reinforces the encounter and makes close-range danger feel more immediate.

Successfully performing Jill’s perfect dodge can trigger its own haptic response, giving one of Resident Evil 3’s signature defensive mechanics a distinct physical cue.

The integration also supports healing, reloads, weapon changes, death, knife attacks, enemy grabs, leg grabs, flashlight interactions and additional environmental or status effects.

PCVR EXPERIENCE

When used with RE3VR Immersion Enhancer, OWO Skin can also respond to VR-specific actions such as drawing weapons from body holsters, reaching for magazines, knife movements and aiming with both hands.
