Play Resident Evil 7 with OWO Skin — on PC or in VR

BEFORE YOU START

IMPORTANT

This integration uses REFramework. For flat-screen gameplay, install dinput8.dll. For PCVR, also add the VR files from the REFramework package and start your VR runtime before launching Resident Evil 7.

INSTALLATION GUIDE

Install REFramework

Download the Resident Evil 7 version of REFramework and copy dinput8.dll into the game directory, next to re7.exe.

Launch the game once

Start Resident Evil 7 once and check that REFramework loads correctly. Press Insert while the game is running to open the REFramework menu.

Install the OWO integration

With the game closed, copy the reframework folder from the OWO package into the Resident Evil 7 game directory and merge the folders.

The installation should include:
reframework\plugins\RE7VR_OWO.dll,
reframework\plugins\RE7VR_OWO\ and
reframework\autorun\RE7VR_OWO_events.lua.

Add the VR files if you play in PCVR

For PCVR, also copy openvr_api.dll and openxr_loader.dll from the REFramework package into the Resident Evil 7 game directory.

Connect Resident Evil 7 to MyOWO

Open MyOWO with your OWO Skin paired and calibrated, launch Resident Evil 7 and select the game card inside MyOWO. When the connection is established, you should feel two soft taps on the chest.

OPTIONAL FOR VR

The OWO integration can also work alongside RE7VR Immersion Enhancer 1.0. This optional mod adds gesture-based VR events such as weapon slots, melee actions and other physical interactions.

The integration includes support for grabs, guarding, healing, low-health heartbeat, weapon recoil, reloads, weapon changes, melee actions, fire, acid and additional gameplay events.

PCVR EXPERIENCE

REFramework provides the PCVR layer for Resident Evil 7 while the OWO integration continues to respond to supported gameplay events through MyOWO. The optional RE7VR Immersion Enhancer can also add gesture-based VR interactions.
