Play Resident Evil 4 with OWO Skin — on PC or in VR

BEFORE YOU START

IMPORTANT

For flat-screen gameplay, install only dinput8.dll from REFramework. If you want to play in VR, extract the complete REFramework package into the game folder and start your VR runtime before launching Resident Evil 4.

INSTALLATION GUIDE

Install REFramework

With the game closed, copy dinput8.dll from the REFramework package into the Resident Evil 4 game folder, where re4.exe is located.

Add the VR files if you play in PCVR

For VR, extract the complete REFramework package into the Resident Evil 4 game directory instead of copying only dinput8.dll. This adds the VR components required by REFramework.

Install the OWO integration

Copy the OWO files into the Resident Evil 4 game directory while keeping the original folder structure.

The installation should include:
reframework\plugins\RE4_OWO.dll and
reframework\plugins\RE4_OWO\.

Start your VR runtime if needed

If you are playing in VR, switch on your headset and start SteamVR or your OpenXR runtime before launching Resident Evil 4. REFramework handles the VR side of the experience.

Connect Resident Evil 4 to MyOWO

Open MyOWO with your OWO Skin paired and calibrated, launch Resident Evil 4 and select the game card inside MyOWO to establish the connection.

OPTIONAL INSTALLER

You can also install the integration using Install-RE4OWO.ps1 -GameDirectory “<game folder>”. The installer copies the required files and can verify the installation using -Verify.

The integration also supports death, grabs, hit damage, opening and pushing doors, wind gusts, break-free actions, melee finishers, cutscene impacts, crouching, standing up and recoil from the SG-09 R.

PCVR EXPERIENCE

REFramework provides the VR layer for Resident Evil 4, while the OWO integration continues to respond to supported gameplay events through MyOWO. Use SteamVR or OpenXR depending on your headset setup.
