No Man’s Sky

Requirements
No Man’s Sky on Steam (Windows x64); 64-bit Python 3.11 with the “Add Python to PATH” option checked (NMS.py does not work with Python 3.12 or later, or with the Microsoft Store build); and MyOWO with the OWO Skin paired and calibrated, connected to the same local network.

1. Download the Mod from NexusMODS.
2. Extract the NoMansSky_OWO folder wherever you prefer, for example: C:\NMS_OWO\
   Do not place it inside the game folder. Add this folder to your antivirus exclusions. NMS.py injects Python into the game process, and Windows Defender may delete nms_owo_bridge.dll without warning.
3. Run 01 Setup.bat once. This creates the Python environment and installs NMS.py, and usually takes around one minute.
   If you play in VR, also add -HmdEnable 1 to the game’s Steam launch options. You only need to do this once.
4. To play, open MyOWO with the OWO Skin connected and calibrated, run 02 Launch.bat, and select the game card in MyOWO. MyOWO will not connect to a game until the user selects it.
   Once connected, you will feel a single soft heartbeat.
5. Whenever the game is updated, run 03 Update.bat. This updates only NMS.py and does not modify any of the mod files.

Notes: If the game does not connect to MyOWO—for example, because a VPN or network is blocking the broadcast—set ServerIp= to the IP address shown in MyOWO, then restart the game.

Uninstalling:  Delete the NoMansSky_OWO folder. Nothing is written to the game folder, the Windows Registry, or Steam.
